Governor Jerry Brown made California the fourth state in the US on Monday to allow physician assisted dying. Yes, only the fourth, and it's disappointing that the numbers (or the lack of) overshadow the real achievement. Everyone has the right to live, and everyone should have the right to die. Of course life is sacred, but the opponents of this law must not seriously think that California's true intentions are to have a genocide. They simply just want to help those people who have no hope of a cure, and are suffering. That's it, there is no story here, Everyone is allowed to make their decisions about their life and body. If you can go and get an abortion from a professional, you should also be able to go to your doctor to die. They are there to help you and to lessen your pain. In any way possible. Of course we support that background checks must take place, and several doctors (including psychologists) should sign off before you are allowed to die. You sho...
The last debates of the year for both parties occurred, and now it is time to get ready for the Christmas Campaign.
The Democrats met up in New Hampshire, where Bernie Sanders seems to have a small, yet comfortable lead over Hillary Clinton. It may have been the honorary home state advantage, but Bernie Sanders won the debate. He came out very strong and excited, and delivered a great performance. There were two things that could have seriously hurt him. Guns, but he handled those questions well. Data breach. Data breach? What data breach? That's right, no one cares about that. It only showed that the DNC really is against Bernie rise to stardom, but their plan backfired as the Vermont Senator gained more support. The latest polls show that he is increasing his lead in New Hampshire, and he is slowly, but once again chipping away from Hillary's lead in Iowa and nationwide after weeks of stagnating results.
Hillary didn't have a bad night either. She was better than last time for sure. She cracked up a lot of jokes, and seemed to enjoy herself, although sometimes it looks like she is so fed up with all these procedures, and she just wants the key to the White House. She didn't seem to speak that much, but statistics showed that she spoke the most overall. She just wasn't that loud or memorable perhaps.
Speaking of loud, O'Malley was there too. He was very fired up, kept interrupting and speaking very loudly. But what has he got to loose?
Bush was good, he improved a lot. But will it be enough to get his momentum back? This is hard to tell, probably not, but it was a good start. It showed a different side of his. He was fierce and kept attacking Trump, it looked good.
Carson keeps fading. That's all.
Cruz was very forward and it is clear to see why he has been surging lately. This was a good performance from him, and he should be satisfied too.
Chris Christie delivered enough to keep his New Hampshire momentum going. Maybe even to make it go national? He had very smart and sensible answers, and made lots of good points. We think that Christie finally got the hang of the debate formats, and he has arrived. We always knew he was good one-on-one, but most people only see the debates.
Fiorina had smart and practical answers. She received big cheers and seemed very sensible on the technological question. Could she be making a comeback soon?
Trump had a meh night. He kept to his old rhetoric, and was booed several times. But he also seemed surprisingly humble at times, which could play into his favor - although what doesn't play into his favor anymore? But it is beginning to look a lot more like the debate format is not his strongest point. He likes rallies, and he is pretty good at them.
Rubio also had a strong night. He is looking more and more like the Obama of 2016. And that should terrify Hillary Clinton for the obvious reasons. While he may only be third in most polls now, most analysts say that eventually people will choose him and that it will be a Cruz-Rubio race till the convention. And we got plenty of glimpses of that on the debate stage. It should be a very interesting match-up.
Kasich seems to be over. That is for President. He seems more and more like a Vice Presidential candidate material for Rubio. Rubio will get the young , the hispanics and some of the independents. And Florida. Kasich will get the old establishment voters, and Romney and George W. Bush's support. And Ohio. It's a perfect storm.
And as we head into Christmas, both sides will have a lot to talk about. Hillary has to make sure that she can fight of Bernie, especially in Iowa. New Hampshire may already be lost for her, but she can't just give up there either. While Bernie and O'Malley just has to reach out to more and more people. Bernie could really win in Iowa too.
For the Republicans it will be even more interesting. Cruz has to figure out a way to keep his momentum going, while Rubio and Bush need it back. Trump should really start to worry about Cruz. Carson should figure out a way to quietly exit. Bye. And the others need to figure out to gain traction in the 11th hour.
