California just made a huge positive step in Healthcare

Governor Jerry Brown made California the fourth state in the US on Monday to allow physician assisted dying. Yes, only the fourth, and it's disappointing that the numbers (or the lack of) overshadow the real achievement. Everyone has the right to live, and everyone should have the right to die. Of course life is sacred, but the opponents of this law must not seriously think that California's true intentions are to have a genocide. They simply just want to help those people who have no hope of a cure, and are suffering. That's it, there is no story here, Everyone is allowed to make their decisions about their life and body. If you can go and get an abortion from a professional, you should also be able to go to your doctor to die. They are there to help you and to lessen your pain. In any way possible. Of course we support that background checks must take place, and several doctors (including psychologists) should sign off before you are allowed to die. You sho

Bush makes it 5

Well well well, Who would have thought? Six months ago nobody, but six days ago everybody. Jeb Bush has quit the Republican race too! The former Florida Governor was an early front runner in this race, but became the latest victim to the Governor's curse, and of course Donald Trump. We are sad to see him go, but he had to! Let's be honest. With his departure, only 5 candidates remain in the race, as Jim Gilmore finally quit as well recently, and as the field narrows ahead of the Nevada Caucus. But who will benefit the most? Trump? Rubio? Cruz? Kasich? or Carson?

Bush had everything. He had by far the most money in the bank. The most endorsements at the time, and of course the best name recognition. The name recognition which is also bad because his brother is still hated by a lot of people, despite his popularity among most Republicans. But in overall it is a very useful and resourceful tool to have. But he didn't use them at all. Only in his dying days did he use his mom and brother once each, but it failed to change the negative momentum. But we have to give it to him, he tried to do it by himself. To prove that he can do it too. Well he couldn't, but we respect him for it. We respect him in general too, because he fought hard, and he fought hard with dignity. Jeb Bush is an honorable man, but that just wasn't enough. Why? Donald Trump.

The Bush campaign had man problems, but all too small by themselves to cause major problems. Everyone knows that he went down because of Trump. Ever since Trump labeled him as "low-energy", it was over. He didn't handle that well, and all the attention from the policies went away. He became a laughing stock, and everyone joined the ride. He also had some bad debates too, but it was Trump. Of course he also fought hard with his protegee, Marco Rubio, but it was nothing compared to Trump. Trump took away his thunder, and all he got was bad press. And that had it's effect. He kept falling in the polls, which was most apparent during the debates, when he kept moving away from the center of the stage. It was just sad to see it happen live, and he couldn't even do anything about it. Poor Jeb, but it is all over now. Maybe after all it is not enough to be a governor, and to have your brother and father as a former President too.

The Guardian
Who will benefit the most? Marco Rubio. Kasich too, and of course some support will go to every candidate, but Marco Rubio is clearly the biggest winner here. Marcomentum will top it's previous high for sure! With Bush's departure, lot's of big donors will now support the senator, and of course many endorsements will follow too! And they already have, as several former and current governors and senators joined Team Marco, and not just from Florida. Cruz and Kasich received some support as well, but now really almost everyone is behind Rubio as he prepares to take down Cruz and then Trump. Can he do it though? Well, late is better than never. Marco Rubio will also benefit in terms of advertising. He will receive a lot less negative ads, as it was mostly Team Jeb who filled the airwaves with them. But now Trump and Cruz will up their games for sure. Trump already questioned his birth eligibility. And we will stop there, because it is just irrelevant in his case. He was born in America, unlike Cruz. That was more than enough already.

And with Jeb's departure, the 45th President of the United States will effectively be chosen from only 5 people. Yeah, down from the 20+. It will either be Hillary Clinton, Bernie Sanders, Ted Cruz, Marco Rubio or Donald Trump. No one else has a reliable chance. Sorry. But whoever wins, one thing is for sure. It will be a historic night. Either a woman, a Jew or a Hispanic will lead the nation. Or a reality TV star, something that only the Philippines has tried before. George Washington must be shocked right now.

We at Finchley 1959, particularly followed his story closely, as we have publicly endorsed him for the nomination back in August! We thought he was very qualified for the job, but was sad to see him fall so quickly. It just wasn't his time. We will now reconsider our options, and endorse another candidate within the next few days before the March 1st primaries. Stay tuned!

Paris was attacked again

EPA On Friday, the 13th of November, everything was normal in Paris. People were happy that the weekend is here, and went out with friends and loved ones for some dinner and drinks, or for their favorite band's concert or cheered for their home nation as France took on Germany in an International friendly. The same night though, the evil also descended on the French capital and took away 130 souls. It was an absolute tragedy. People have been shocked to their cores. It is with great sadness that we write about this topic. It touched us very deeply too. That is partially why it took us so long to reflect on this issue, the other being the fact that there is still so many new developments surfacing continuously. The whole picture is not clear yet. It may never be. What is perhaps one of the most striking facts about this attack beyond the number of casualties, is the fact that this is the second tragedy in Paris this year alone. It has only been 10 months since gunmen at

Hillary: It's time to panic

Not everyone will agree, but it may be time for Hillary to finally seriously panic about this race. Months have passed since her email scandal began, and since the rise of Bernie Sanders, and she is still not handling it that well. And the future doesn't look all that great either. Hillary has got to stop the tide. And she is trying. She is giving more interviews and she is out there more, b ut Bernie is still the one that has the momentum. Some would argue that even Joe Biden has more momentum than Hillary's campaign. Hillary's campaign doesn't seem to be focused, it's like they are in denial. Let's look at polling closer. Hillary Clinton is losing to Jeb Bush in Michigan. In Michigan. If a Democrat can't take Michigan, there are some real problems here. Moreover, she is only barely beating Trump there. Hillary has clearly slipped in the polls. On a national scale too, she has got some major problems. In the latest poll, she got 33% of the vot

Rubio Shines at the first debate

Florida Senator Marco Rubio has  performed very well in last night's first national Republican Presidential Debate, and according to most analysts he seemed to finish first.  The debate in Cleveland was closely followed by the whole world, as it is likely to have showcased the next possible President of the United States. Rubio answered each question very professionally, never really stumbled and seemed to be one of the crowd favourites. He also had a positive online and social media response from the public, and thus can be applauded as he seemed to have successfully broken out of the stalemate that represented  the candidates who were not in the top 3 before yesterday. But we will have to wait a few more days to see how the polls reacted. As for Donald Trump, who was standing in the centre of the stage, it was as we expected. He pretty much dominated the discussions and appeared the most on our screen. He had spats with the audience, the other candidates and even
