Politico Hillary Clinton ran her victory lap last night in So uth Carolina. No one expected her to loose there, and she didn't. Her African-American support base showed up, and she won decisively. It was her New Hampshire. But because Bernie wasn't expected to win there, it doesn't really hurt him. However, the size of the win is even beyond the predicted.But it's not like his civil rights record and arrest from the 60's doesn't prove that he too is for the African Americans. They both are. Now we move on to Super Tuesday. That will decide a lot for both the Democrats and Republicans.  The 48 point win though still underscores Sanders' troubles going into March. Clinton now has a strong advantage in the South, and that will give her a lot of delegates. Especially Texas. Sanders may win some of the northern states. But he certainly is in big trouble. Iowa and New Hampshire have done their job again. The field is narrowing down, as New Jersey Governor Chris Christie has become the latest candidate to drop out of the Republican race. The outspoken governor was an early frontrunner in this race, however he was hurt by the Bridgegate scandal back home, and was overshadowed in the crowded Establishment/Governor lane and by the rise of political outsiders like Donald Trump. After coming in at 6th place in the Granite State, Christie didn't believe in the race anymore, as he put all his eggs in one basket. It worked for Kasich, not for Christie, and that is why we are saying bye to him now. After months of speculation, questioning and laugh offs, both Donald Trump and Bernie Sanders proved that they are serious candidates, and that they are here to stay for a long time. They both finished second in Iowa, but New Hampshire proved that they are in no way perennial candidates anymore. And what a way to do it, Donald Trump won more than double of his nearest competitor John Kasich, while Bernie Sanders won upwards of 60% too. The question now is if they can continue their streak in South Carolina and Nevada respectively. On the Democratic side, there were no questions at all. Chris Carlson/AP After months of campaigning, Iowa finally voted yesterday! On the Republican side of the Iowa Caucus, Texas Senator surprised Donald Trump. While the Democrats pretty much tied, as Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders only received slightly less support than former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, but it is still unclear who won, as a recount is very much possible. All the latest polls, even by Anne Selzer, predicted a Donald Trump victory, even though they all acknowledged that Ted Cruz was not far behind. But in real life, not many people expected Cruz to win, even though if there were serious questions of whether or not Trump supporters are real and if they will actually turn out to vote. Well they were real, but Cruz had more of them. Trump almost even slipped down to 3rd place, as it was confirmed that Rubio's late surge was real. AP Photo 2016 Republican Presidential candidate, and frontrunner (by a lot, as he would say), Donald Trump had a great night last night. He held a huge rally at Iowa's Drake University, as he comfortably awaits the next ten days where he has every chance to win the first two states that are voting: Iowa and New Hampshire. Oh, that's right. There was also a GOP Debate going on at the same time, accordingly without Mr. Trump. Everyone was calling Trump out for being scared of Megyn Kelly. Not True. For risking his future as he is neck-and-neck with Ted Cruz. Not True. Trump simply had a problem with the moderators, so he decided to stay away. Rand Paul did the same thing for the last debate, when he had a problem with the criteria. The First Republican Debate of the Year happened last night. It was all about Trump vs. Cruz, Rubio vs. Cruz and Cruz vs. everyone. Ted Cruz was the ultimate winner though. Cruz spoke the most and was the most talked about as well, together with Trump. Earlier this week Trump narrowly retook Iowa from Cruz, but now it really will be a 50/50 race in the first voting state. They used to be on pretty good terms, but as Iowa votes in just over two weeks time, on February 1st, gloves are off and it is all about blood now. Trump and Cruz had several big battles last night. Trump again attacked Cruz on him being born in Canada. It probably doesn't really matter, cause he does seem to be qualified, but some Cruz voters might stay away from him, and in a close race like this, that could decide everything. Former President Bill Clinton began campaigning for Hillary Clinton this week. With less than four weeks before the first votes are cast, many campaigns are shaking up their tactics. Hillary is now enlisting Bill, Trump has ads and Christie is heading to Iowa. But will these new methods work? Just like Joe Biden though, Bill Clinton is known for his gaffes. In 2008 too, he made some controversial and unfortunate statements, and many saw him as a liability to his wife's campaign. This time around, he has been noticeably missing from the campaign trail, only appearing in some family gatherings with Chelsea Clinton too. The last debates of the year for both parties occurred, and now it is time to get ready for the Christmas Campaign. The Democrats met up in New Hampshire, where Bernie Sanders seems to have a small, yet comfortable lead over Hillary Clinton. It may have been the honorary home state advantage, but Bernie Sanders won the debate. He came out very strong and excited, and delivered a great performance. There were two things that could have seriously hurt him. Guns, but he handled those questions well. Data breach. Data breach? What data breach? That's right, no one cares about that. It only showed that the DNC really is against Bernie rise to stardom, but their plan backfired as the Vermont Senator gained more support. The latest polls show that he is increasing his lead in New Hampshire, and he is slowly, but once again chipping away from Hillary's lead in Iowa and nationwide after weeks of stagnating results. It is now only 50 days till Iowa, and Ted Cruz is the new star on the block. Latest polls show that the Texas Senator overtook the lead from Donald Trump. In the string of latest national polls however, Trump is still leading, but his lead has also fallen, as Marco Rubio rises as well, but currently Cruz has the momentum. On the national scale, Carson's fall is the most visible change. He has made some controversial comments lately, and as a result is falling at a faster rate than President Obama's approval rate. Trump continues to be controversial, and it looks like his latest (disgraceful) comments against muslims might finally make him go down, to a degree at least.  It is also now time for Graham, Gilmore, Pataki and Santorum to finally quit. They clearly have no measurable support behind them after months, so they should just leave to make more space. Mark J. Terrill/AP President Marco Rubio? Yes. Last Night the third Republican debate occurred, this time in Colorado. A lot of question were answered as it was a crucial night for many of the candidates. One thing is clear though, Marco Rubio is now the biggest hope of the party, and he should be chosen as the nominee.  It is also easy to see that several of the other candidates should withdraw, to allow for a clear, policy driven debate between the serious candidates, like the Democrats have been able to do. Unfortunately however, there is only a little possibility that the field will thin out enough in time before Iowans will go to the polling stations. Jindal, Pataki, Santorum and Graham should drop out now. The miracle is not going to happen for them. The participants of the undercard debate showed again why they are still at that debate, and not at the main one. It is time to go.
