California just made a huge positive step in Healthcare

Governor Jerry Brown made California the fourth state in the US on Monday to allow physician assisted dying. Yes, only the fourth, and it's disappointing that the numbers (or the lack of) overshadow the real achievement. Everyone has the right to live, and everyone should have the right to die. Of course life is sacred, but the opponents of this law must not seriously think that California's true intentions are to have a genocide. They simply just want to help those people who have no hope of a cure, and are suffering. That's it, there is no story here, Everyone is allowed to make their decisions about their life and body. If you can go and get an abortion from a professional, you should also be able to go to your doctor to die. They are there to help you and to lessen your pain. In any way possible. Of course we support that background checks must take place, and several doctors (including psychologists) should sign off before you are allowed to die. You sho...

Walker's Wall

Scott Walker used to be a front runner in this race, and was often hailed as the only true Conservative. Lately however, he has been one of the establishment candidates who have slipped in the polls. Therefore it is possibly that he is only trying to generate some buzz around his campaign, as the race moves into the fall and picks up speed. Nevertheless, Walker too is open to the idea of building a wall. Trump style. You'd think. But no no, he is talking about securing the northern border with Canada. Yes, let that sink in. The Wisconsin Governor said that the discussion regarding a Canadian wall is 'legitimate' and should be seriously considered if the US wants to secure its borders. Activists say that much of the focus in the campaign has been given to the Mexican border, where people see  bigger threat. That's where most of the illegal immigration and drug trafficking is happening, but there are dangers elsewhere too. Canada has seen two ...

Special Report Part 3: Migrant Crisis Live from Budapest

Budapest is a beautiful city. In fact even in an objective opinion, it can be called one of the most gorgeous creations. It simply is just amazing. It is also sometimes referred to as the centre of Europe, due to its geographical location. However, this year it also became the centre of something else. The migrant crisis that is engulfing the EU.  The sad truth of the matter is that the demographics  of the world is changing, and we must accept it. There is nothing we can do at this point to change or stop it. This year already, almost 100,000 migrants have crossed into Hungary alone (and thus the EU) illegally. And many more were probably missed by authorities. The ones who chose this route over the Mediterranean, usually come from warn torn regions such as Syria, Iraq and Afghanistan or from parts of the world where they have few opportunities and bad living conditions such as Pakistan and Kosovo. Many of them travel to Budapest on foot, and sleep with th...

Immigration is shaking up the politics of Europe

Migrant crisis in the Mediterranean. Refugees streaming in from Syria and Iraq. Eastern European workers in the Western member states. These are the forms of Immigration that are currently transforming the political landscape of the EU. The National Front is rising in France, UKIP in the UK, Jobbik in Hungary, Lega Nord in Italy and the Freedom Party in Holland. Brussels is stuck, and there doesn't seem to be a right way out of this mess for them. Every week, thousands of Africans are rescued from the Mediterranean Sea, as their little, and unsafe boats capsize and face imminent death. The Europeans are trying to rescue them out of their goodwill and human compassion, but they just generate more problems for them. Italy can't handle tens of thousands of immigrants each month, and the EU has no facilities either. These migrants are living in horrible conditions, and there is no hope for them. Similarly, thousands of illegal immigrants are trying to enter the ...

Will Cameron stay or go?

Really, it’s too early to tell. Even though the election is only a month and a half away, the people can’t seem to decide. The latest official polls put the Labour party at 35%, and the Conservatives at 33%. This is however well within the statistical error. What this means is that anything could happen on May 7th, and that creates huge uncertainty. The incumbent Conservative Party has been cutting Labour’s lead slowly but steadily over the past years. However, recently they suffered some major blows. Several Conservative MP's have deserted to UKIP, or have been caught handling illegal funds and engaging in unacceptable campaign methods. Furthermore, the government’s immigration plan backfired, and Cameron’s stubbornness to attend the live televised debates have all been bad for the party. The economy is performing rather well; the NHS seems to be okay for now. But what will decide this election is immigration. It is the most talked about topic. Most people s...
