California just made a huge positive step in Healthcare

Governor Jerry Brown made California the fourth state in the US on Monday to allow physician assisted dying. Yes, only the fourth, and it's disappointing that the numbers (or the lack of) overshadow the real achievement. Everyone has the right to live, and everyone should have the right to die. Of course life is sacred, but the opponents of this law must not seriously think that California's true intentions are to have a genocide. They simply just want to help those people who have no hope of a cure, and are suffering. That's it, there is no story here, Everyone is allowed to make their decisions about their life and body. If you can go and get an abortion from a professional, you should also be able to go to your doctor to die. They are there to help you and to lessen your pain. In any way possible. Of course we support that background checks must take place, and several doctors (including psychologists) should sign off before you are allowed to die. You sho...

Fiorina's victory

Carly Fiorina provided an eccentric performance at the last debate
Republican Presidential Candidate Carly Fiorina will be on the main stage of the next GOP debate after all. CNN has agreed to change its rules as they realized that Fiorina is consistently polling well within the top 10 candidates. Mrs. Fiorina will now join the all male debate stage on September 16, at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library in California.

Carly Fiorina's campaign team has been pressuring CNN for the past few weeks to change their rules, but the move still comes as a surprise to many. CNN previously stated that they will not change their rules, as they were published back in May, and every candidate knew what was required or expected from them to appear on the stage. Under those rules, months old polls would have been used to chose the ten candidates. Mrs. Fiorina only started to rise in polls after her stand out performance in the first debate. Under the new rules, any candidate who has been polled nationally  in the top 10 in the past month will be on the main stage. Carly Fiorina will be one of those people, but this doesn't mean that John Kasich or Chris Christie will be relegated either.

The achievement by Fiorina to be on the main stage comes as the latest sign that she is becoming one of the leaders of the pack, along with Trump, Carson and Bush. While many still think that eventually the outside candidates who never held office will fall from grace and disappear, Fiorina's name is often excluded from that list and is frequently mentioned as a possible Vice Presidential candidate.

If Mrs. Fiorina can bag another successful debate night, she will continue to surge in polls for sure. Although this debate will be a lot different than the last one.

This time there could be 11 people on stage and that means a lot less airtime for each candidate. And not only did Fiorina have more time, she had less good debators next to her. It is going to be a lot harder to outdo Trump, Cruz or Rubio. Nevertheless, she can still win if she continues to give straight answers and be so articulate, just like last time.

This time she will also be surrounded by two other non-politicians, Carson and Trump, so she won't be so distinctive, apart from being the only woman. She also can't just criticize Trump, because he will speak back. And everyone has two think twice before going after Trump. She can still however attack Hillary Clinton. And she will.

Everyone will continue to watch and guess how she could go up against Mrs. Clinton, because the Republicans do need her to sway the women vote.

Despite it being seemingly harder this time around due to all the above reasons and the pressure of high expectations, Fiorina can still come away as a victor from this debate too, and show that she is strong enough to win it.

Paris was attacked again

EPA On Friday, the 13th of November, everything was normal in Paris. People were happy that the weekend is here, and went out with friends and loved ones for some dinner and drinks, or for their favorite band's concert or cheered for their home nation as France took on Germany in an International friendly. The same night though, the evil also descended on the French capital and took away 130 souls. It was an absolute tragedy. People have been shocked to their cores. It is with great sadness that we write about this topic. It touched us very deeply too. That is partially why it took us so long to reflect on this issue, the other being the fact that there is still so many new developments surfacing continuously. The whole picture is not clear yet. It may never be. What is perhaps one of the most striking facts about this attack beyond the number of casualties, is the fact that this is the second tragedy in Paris this year alone. It has only been 10 months since gunm...

Immigration is shaking up the politics of Europe

Migrant crisis in the Mediterranean. Refugees streaming in from Syria and Iraq. Eastern European workers in the Western member states. These are the forms of Immigration that are currently transforming the political landscape of the EU. The National Front is rising in France, UKIP in the UK, Jobbik in Hungary, Lega Nord in Italy and the Freedom Party in Holland. Brussels is stuck, and there doesn't seem to be a right way out of this mess for them. Every week, thousands of Africans are rescued from the Mediterranean Sea, as their little, and unsafe boats capsize and face imminent death. The Europeans are trying to rescue them out of their goodwill and human compassion, but they just generate more problems for them. Italy can't handle tens of thousands of immigrants each month, and the EU has no facilities either. These migrants are living in horrible conditions, and there is no hope for them. Similarly, thousands of illegal immigrants are trying to enter the ...

Paul Ryan elected as the next Speaker of the House

Getty Images Representative Paul Ryan of Wisconsin has been elected as the 62nd Speaker of the House on Thursday. The Republican succeeds John Boehner who resigned last month after nearly 5 years. The Speaker is second in-line to the Presidency and sets his party's agenda in the house. Speaker Boehner resigned the day after the Pope's historic visit due to a rift in the party and the continued debate over the next possible Government shutdown. His resignation was seen as a victory to many in the year of political outsiders gaining momentum in Washington. Many blamed him for the lack of progress made in Congress over the past few years, despite the fact that he passed several key legislations during his tenure. Immediately after Boehner's resignation, California Representative Kevin McCarthy was seen as the natural successor to his boss, he however dropped out of the race soon afterwards due to disagreements and the fear of not getting the required support. Rya...
